T is for 'The Thousandth Time'
For
many of us,
We’ve
been on cloudy nine
This
whole valentine weekend!
That’s
how life is supposed to feel.
Of
course there’ll always be some tension now and then,
But
there’ll always be a path back to this, if we try.
So,
do you care enough
To
retrace this path thousands of times?
And
not just on Valentine Day?
You
see...the joys of now and the future
Rest
squarely on this promise - not to our loved ones - but to ourselves.
If we
can promise ourselves
That
we’ll always look for the path
Back
to this weekend, over and over again,
For a
thousand times and more,
Then
we shall have signed our epitaph
In
the most beautiful calligraphy.
And
if, for some reason, this weekend didn’t turn out
As well
as you had hoped,
Don’t
worry.
Give
it a shrug and try again. You still have 999 chances left!
Allow
me to pen off with this lovely quote:
“Love,
I’m sure, is not in short supply.
We
are abundantly loving creatures.
But
we withhold it. For fear of vulnerability,
Rejection,
holding up some staid and unadventurous idea of propriety.
Today,
let’s risk it.
Love
a stranger.
Love
the stranger parts of ourselves.
With
sis boom bah’s. Or quiet as moonlight.
But
love. Without restraint.
Of
all the regrets I have,
Loving
too much will never be one of them.”
