Words that caught me: C is for Chancing

Everything familiar is gone.
Almost all of it.
…the things we used to do on Sunday,
The places we used to visit,
Our Monday morning routine,
The drive to and from work,
The familiar humdrum of town…all gone.

We are very fortunate
To be witnessing a momentous shift…
A turning point in history.
Yet…
Like all shifts, we are shocked and shaken by its pain,
Leaving us feeling exposed…naked…and afraid.

To be or not to be?
To resist or to adapt?
Where do we move from here?

We can start at the beginning…
With shifting, curating and cleaning house.
We can start by deciding what needs preserving
And what we need to throw out and let go.
We can start by creating space for and experimenting with the new.

What new nourishment are you chancing
Now that the familiar ones don’t work any more?
