Words that caught me: J is for Junk!

We all have some junk -
Things we don’t need or use.
The issue, therefore, is not if we have junk,
But how much of it we hold,
And why we are holding or attached to it.

Something else...
We mostly think of junk as physical things,
But there is a lot of emotional garbage
That we keep, despite the stress that comes with it,
And how much it holds us back.

Can there be a good reason for holding
Or being attached too much junk?
I honestly can’t think of any.
If you don’t need it,
And it doesn’t serve your good,
Why keep it?

Think of all the space, dust and cobwebs
That junk gathers in our homes,
And minds?
Think of all the opportunities,
Beauty, Clarity and peace of mind we are crowding away?
How can that be healthy?

Let’s talk about travel, adventure and wellness...
What do you think keeps these out of our doors?
Don’t look very far...
Undoubtedly, it’s the clutter and junk in our lives,
That imprisons in a cycle of busyness.
We’ve literally crowded them out with little trivia (junk)!

Sonnenberg sums up this with a profound question:
“If you won’t clean up your clutter,
how much of what you do
is unnecessary as well?”

Ponder that!
