THE GOLD WE NEVER SEEM TO REALIZE WE OWN, UNTIL WE LOSE IT
The
castle over the hill?
The big mansion in the exclusive part of town?
Or the million bucks in the bank?
And
what would you say is responsible for your achievements?
Your
hard working self? Or your sheer intelligence and tenacity?
And
what would you say will be responsible for your future success?
Your
network of the high and mighty? Or your ability to outsmart the competition?
But suppose
the unthinkable happens and you lost everything, what would you need to restart
again?
FACT: Life
is not life without good health.
Your
health is the goose that lays the golden egg.
And good health is more than just exercise and diet. It incudes
your mental and spiritual well being.
FACT: “…good health… is really a point of view
and a mental attitude you have about yourself.” -Albert
Schweitzer
But
if this is your most valuable asset, if this is in deed what keeps you going, if this
is what lays the golden egg, what have you done to it lately to keep it in top
notch condition?
FACT: About 80% of the
chronic diseases today are lifestyle related.
Are
you one of those who are increasing these statistics?
FACT: Your body doesn’t
just break down. It is usually something that has been happening over some time.
And
there are no two ways about it.
Its
either you value your health above everything else, or you don’t.
If
you take care of your health, the results will translate to all other areas of
your life.
You
will feel more spiritually connected, you will feel more confident with yourself,
you will be more productive throughout your day, and you will have pure energy
to spend time and be playful with those who matter to you most.
FACT: If you value your health, you
will schedule time to cook or eat a good meal, you will schedule time to
exercise, you will schedule time to be with the ones you love, and you will
schedule time for yourself to reflect, meditate and listen to your soul.
Let’s
conclude this with a quotation from Dalai Lama.
“Man
surprises me most …Because he sacrifices his health in order to make
money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is
so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result
being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is
never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
Take
care of your health; physical, mental and spiritual. It’s the only possession
that will truly serve you when everything else is gone.
