Words that caught me: L is for Liberating

What’s your gut feeling?
Do you feel like the labyrinth
Of life’s turns and twists
Is tying you into knots?
Or, do you get the sense that every day
Is a step towards your liberation?

It’s a strange question, I know,
But it matters a great deal
To our overall attitude, approach and choices.

Everyone, at one moment or another, reaches a point where they ask:
‘What’s this about?’
‘What should I do next?’

Sometimes, life can seem befuddling and bewildering.
It’s funny, but these moments also happen to be the decisive moments.

That feeling of confusion, frustration and disappointment
Is also a signal that you are coming to a cross-road,
And your path is about to fork.

‘What’s this about?’
It’s life calling you out.
‘What should I do next?’
Take the road that steps towards your liberation.

Ayn Rand says it best: there are no contradictions in nature,
And if you happen to find one, check your premise.

There is a lot of evidence to suggest that she is right.
The road to getting entangled,
And tying ourselves into needless knots,
Is paved by our reluctance to pause,
And check our assumptions, and thinking patterns.

Whenever you are faced with a moment that demands an answer to
‘What’s this about? What should I do next?’,
Try to notice and respect that moment for what it is.
Pause.
Listen intently to your soul (because it speaks only in whispers).
And then act towards whatever gives you liberation (with courage and faith).
